Big news from the VoicesAlive family. Tonight, during MenAlive 25: Finding Our Voice at the Irvine Barclay Theatre, we announced our newest chorus: PrideAlive, Orange County’s all-new, all-voice, LGBTQIA+ chorus.
PrideAlive is a full SATB chorus, open to all voices and all orientations. For twenty-five years, MenAlive has given gay and allied men a place to sing and belong. Now PrideAlive opens that same door wider, welcoming every voice on the spectrum into one chorus built on community, belonging, joy, and celebration.
Six colors were just the beginning. We kept going, and PrideAlive is where that expansion becomes a chorus you can actually stand in and sing with.
We’re thrilled to share that Gavin Thrasher will serve as Artistic Director, bringing his experience and vision to help shape this chorus from its very first note.
Here’s what’s ahead:
- First rehearsal: Monday, August 10, at 7:30 PM, at Church of the Foothills in Santa Ana. Open rehearsals will be on Monday, August 10, 17, and 31.
- Debut performance: December 11, 2026. PrideAlive will take the stage for 3 to 4 songs as part of MenAlive’s annual holiday concert, right here in Orange County.
- The long view: We’re just getting started.
