Common questions
Frequently Asked Questions
We know joining a new chorus comes with questions. Here are answers to the ones we hear most.
What is PrideAlive?
PrideAlive is Orange County's newest LGBTQIA+ chorus, part of the VoicesAlive family alongside MenAlive and HeartsAlive. We are a full SATB (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) chorus, open to all voices and all orientations.
Who can join?
Anyone. PrideAlive welcomes singers of every gender identity, sexual orientation, and background, regardless of vocal experience level. If you love to sing, there is a place for you here.
When and where do you rehearse?
Rehearsals are on most Monday's at 7:30 p.m., starting August 10, 2026, at Church of the Foothills, 19211 Dodge Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92705.
Do I need to audition?
Rather than a traditional audition, the Artistic Director will conduct a voice placement (voicing) with each singer. It allows our Artistic Director to determine which vocal section will create the strongest overall balance for the ensemble.
When is PrideAlive's first performance?
PrideAlive will make its debut on December 11, 2026, performing songs during the MenAlive holiday concert, Celebrate! From Our Hearth to Yours. It's the perfect night to hear PrideAlive for the first time.
How do I sign up?
