When you join PrideAlive, you are doing more than just becoming part of a choral group; you are becoming part of a family. PrideAlive strives to provide a welcoming atmosphere where anyone will find opportunities for musical excellence, high-quality performances, camaraderie, support, volunteerism, and lifelong friends.
Open Rehearsals + Info Night
Before we start rehearsing for an upcoming concert, PrideAlive holds casual Open Rehearsals + Info Night, where you can learn all the details about joining the PrideAlive family. The first three rehearsals of the season are Open Rehearsals and include Voicings, where the Artistic Director will get to know you and your musical background and choral experience. If this will be your first choral experience, that’s also fantastic. You’ll be asked to match notes with the piano and sing a few bars of a simple song. This is to understand your vocal range and where to place you within the chorus. Open rehearsals are usually held two to three times per year, depending on the number of shows that season.
Time Commitment
For the first season, PrideAlive rehearsals will be held every other Monday at 7:30 p.m. The first three rehearsals of the season are Monday, August 10, 17, and 31. Rehearsals start approximately three to four months before a concert. Dress and technical rehearsals are held the week of the concert. Additional singing opportunities, such as concert solos, dance acts, or small ensembles, will require additional rehearsal time. Rehearsal attendance is vital to the success of our shows.
